Caleb in his Jumperoo!

It's hard to believe our little boy is 3 months old!! Ohh how the time has flown by. He loves his jumperoo, he has always liked to 'stand' on his legs, this helps him do that plus jump!

Marshall still has not returned to work, his doctor wants him to do some physical therapy first. Everything is healing fine but his ankle is still really tight. He had his first physical therapy appointment yesterday and that went really well. He was already walking much better. He goes back to see the doctor next week and then maybe he can go back to work! He broke his ankle November 5th, so it's been quite awhile for this recovery. Much longer than we expected anyway. It has really been a mixed blessing for us...even though he's not been able to work which has left us struggling financially, he's been able to spend all this precious time with Caleb. That is really more important anyway! They are going to have such an amazing bond that most fathers don't get to experience with their children. I only wish I would have more time at home with Caleb too!

Kolvig Christmas

My mom's side of the family came over for Christmas day...we had dinner and then opened gifts and played the dice game, which is always entertaining with that group! Caleb did really well with all the activity. There were so many people there, it was so nice to have almost the whole family together. It was the first Christmas we've had in a LONG time with little kids around..Evan just turned 2 and now there are three babies, Caleb and his two second cousins, Kenna, who is just 3 weeks old, and Adam, 6 months old. Next year will really be different with the three babies running around! Caleb spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa's on Christmas, while Marshall and I came home. Marshall had a doctor's appointment for his ankle the next day and I had to work, so Caleb stayed there until I was done with work for the day. Not like they mind having Caleb around!! They love it!

Christmas morning

We opened gifts on Christmas morning at my parents house with my sister, brother, and Stephanie. Caleb was spoiled of course!! He got a jumperoo and lots of clothes from Grandma and Grandpa, a tummy time activity set from Uncle Joey, and more cute clothes from Aunties Laura and Stephanie. He didn't care much for opening presents but he was a good boy! He's really into grabbing on to things now and almost rolled over while laying on the floor with Grandpa!

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with Marshall's mom, step-dad and sister. Some of George's family came over as well, so Caleb got to meet some extended family for the first time. Caleb really liked his giraffe rattle!

Pre-Baptism Class

Last night I attended a Pre-Baptism class for Caleb at the Church where Marshall and I were married. It was really nice, the deacon who married us was giving the class and he is always very personable and interesting to listen to. Marshall and I have made the difficult decision of choosing godparents for Caleb, there are many important people in our lives that would be wonderful godparents so it was not an easy choice. We have asked my brother, Joey and my cousin, Angela. The baptism has been tenatively scheduled for February but we may be changing that since Angela is leaving soon for Europe.

Caleb spent all of yesterday with Uncle Joey. It went really well! I knew it would. He also had Auntie Laura there after school, and Grandpa, Grandma, and Auntie Stephanie after work. Angela even stopped by to visit as well! What a popular little guy!

Now we are really looking forward to Caleb's first Christmas..even though he is too young to understand it will still be fun. I still have to finish up my Christmas shopping and mail out Christmas cards (which will be late, since Caleb's pictures don't get back in until the 22nd!) Not being ready yet is driving me crazy since I try to always be very organized!

Christmas in Osakis

We had a really busy weekend! Marshall, Caleb and I went shopping Saturday at the mall to try and finish up Christmas shopping. That was a nightmare! Caleb was wonderful, so well-behaved, but it was just crazy at the mall. We went out for dinner too, it was the first time just the 3 of us had been to a restaurant.

Sunday was Christmas in Osakis with the Waldvogel family. There were SO many people there! We had a nice dinner and then opened gifts. Caleb got a lot of cute stuff, including a cute Twins outfit and baseball cap from his second cousin, Allie. I'll have to post pictures of him opening gifts later...I didn't get a chance to upload them this weekend.

Caleb went home Sunday night with Grandma and Grandpa. Uncle Joey is babysitting him today while I'm at work. Marshall had a work meeting to go to today and I'm heading down that way after work to attend a pre-baptism class at church so I will pick up Caleb on my way home. It was so strange last night for Marshall and I to be home alone with no baby!!

O Christmas Tree

Here's our Christmas tree this year!!

Caleb at 11 weeks

Caleb was 11 weeks old last Sunday! He is growing up way too fast. We are starting to be challenged by his sleeping habits this week. He started sleeping through the night, from about 10pm to 8 or 9 am, when he was 8 weeks old. It has been WONDERFUL and we know we are so lucky! However, this week he just does not want to go to sleep at night. I give him his last bottle and try to get him down, but nearly every night he's been up again until 11 or midnight. Thankfully, Marshall has been putting him back down so I can sleep, since I'm working and Marshall is still at home. He has not been napping well during the day for Marshall either...so we know he's tired at night, he just wants to stay up!! I am hoping we can get things back to normal soon. I LOVE these jammies and slippers he is wearing in these pictures. What a cute little man!

Laura's birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURA!!!! My sister, Laura, is sweet sixteen years old today!! My family went out for dinner Saturday to celebrate and then my mom's side of the family joined us at my mom's for some food and cake. Earlier in the day Laura and I took Caleb to see Santa at the mall...we had to wait nearly 2 HOURS in line! My brother, Joey and his fiance, Stephanie, were out there shopping so we all kind of took turns waiting in the line. Caleb did so well, he was starting to get crabby but didn't cry when he saw Santa!

On Sunday Marshall and I took Caleb to get his pictures taken professionally at JCPenneys. Apparently TONS of other people do the same thing around the holidays..it was crazy there. Even though we had an appointment we had to wait, with many other families and wild children. Caleb fell asleep and by the time it was his turn he was kind of crabby. His hair was also sticking straight up in one place and I could not calm it down!! So he ended up looking kind of goofy but we still got a cute picture. No smiles though!

Caleb's Papa and Grandma Mari

Marshall's dad and stepmom came to visit from North Dakota this weekend. They brought down their old entertainment stand and tv for us to have, so Dennis helped Marshall set all that up. They also brought us Christmas presents since we won't see them closer to the holidays. Caleb got his first Christmas gifts!!! Will he be a Vikings fan or a Steelers fan?? You can guess what his Daddy would say!

Daycare woes...

Well I've finally got Caleb enrolled in a daycare that won't close down on us!! We've had so many problems finding reliable child care it is UNREAL.

I started searching for daycare this summer, long before Caleb arrived and found an in-home family daycare that I really liked. He was all set to go there when I started back at work...but a couple weeks before that the daycare lady called me and said she was being shut down!! I started frantically looking for a new place and found another in-home family daycare, Caleb was supposed to start there as soon as Marshall went back to work.

So, a few days ago I get a call from this new daycare lady....we were supposed to stop by last night and pick up the paperwork. She calls and says she has to close for awhile too, something about her licensing. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING, right???? So once again I'm frantically looking for daycare.

I visited a daycare center that is close to our home..and we've decided to enroll Caleb there, at least for the time being. I really liked it there and felt so comfortable with the director. It's really convienent for us, with location and hours...but the price is a lot more than we can probably afford. I guess you get what you pay for. I'm so relieved to have this settled for now. Like we need more stress in our lives!! Marshall went to the doctor yesterday and got his cast off...now he's wearing a lovely boot. Who knows when he'll be back at work...it's still too hard for him to get around and in and out of a forklift!

Caleb's grandparents from North Dakota, Dennis and Mari, are coming to visit this weekend...that will be nice! They haven't seen Caleb since he was 2 weeks old so it will be great for him to see them again.

Sorry, no pictures to share today!! We'll have to take more this weekend, it is unreal how much Caleb changes. He seems to have grown a little every day!

Caleb laughs!

Yesterday when I got home from work I walked in the house to the most adorable sound...baby laughter! Caleb was sitting with his Daddy and he was just shrieking with laughter. It was so precious!

Caleb and Kitty

Kitty has gotten pretty comfortable with Caleb now! She slept in his crib with him for quite awhile the other day.

Caleb had his 2 month check up last Wednesday. He is doing great! He weighed 13 lbs 15 oz and was 24 1/2 inches long. Those measurements are both in the 90th percentile. Caleb also got 5 vaccines, 4 shots and 1 oral. He definetly did not like those, but he was pretty good. He screamed for a few minutes but was fine at home. He didn't have any bad reactions to the vaccinations, he was just kind of fussy that night and the next day as well.
