Happy Easter!

We had a fun Easter with Caleb this year. He was excited about the 'bunny'...although he thought it was the bunny from Grandma's backyard. He got some fun books, Elmo toy and a talking Barney in his Easter basket...he LOVES Barney. He's been saying goodnight to Barney and he's so happy to see Barney every day! It's cute. Caleb also got a watering can and other fun presents from Ma's Easter bunny...he's been having fun "watering" Grandma's plants. We looked for eggs at both Grandma's houses. Caleb had a blast finding eggs..I was surprised how quickly he caught on to that! He got a cute wagon at Grandma Karen's, too.

We had two Easter dinners this year...one at my Uncle Kenny and Aunt Kathy's house with my mom's side of the family and one at Grandma Karen's. Caleb had so much fun playing with his second cousin Kenna. It was neat to watch two little ones interact.

This weekend we're heading to Fargo to meet Marshall's dad, stepmom and nephew Alex at a hotel. Caleb hasn't seen them for a long time, so it will be a lot of fun to visit. Hopefully Caleb will also enjoy swimming in the hotel pool!

Getting ready for Easter!

I had the day off from work on Good Friday so Caleb and I spent the day together. We dyed Easter eggs with Uncle Joey, Auntie Steph, and Auntie Laura. Caleb had fun with the crayons. We also went shopping and got Caleb some new shoes. Size 8 extra wide!! Big feet! I wonder where he gets that from? His new shoes are a little big though..he will grow into them.

18 months old!

Caleb is 18 months old! 1 1/2 years!! That just can't be right! He's such a big boy now. We visited Dr. Sakkal this week for a well-child check up and he is a very healthy boy. He weighs 28 lbs 15 oz (75th percentile) and he's 34 inches tall (90th percentile). His head is 50 cm..almost the same size as an adult's! His ears look great, too.

I'm also happy to report that Caleb has been sleeping MUCH better. We started a new sleep training regimen that involved our bed being moved out of the bedroom we were sharing. Caleb goes to bed earlier, sleeps usually all night, and sleeps later (on weekends). It's been great. I'm feeling so much better, too..after months of not sleeping well. What a relief.

Caleb has so much fun playing with stuff these days...he loves these old cooking toys we used to play with as kids. He'll 'make' you something and you have to pretend to eat it. He also had fun playing with Pa out in the recent snow. He had to make sure that Laura, Ma and I were watching him from the front door. If we looked away he yelled "Mommy!" "Dua" (Laura)! Every day after daycare he enjoys watching Barney or Elmo on tv with his snack.

Goofy faces

Caleb is really turning into such a character! He loves to smile when asked...he'll even say 'cheese' for you! He's doing really well at daycare. Grandma, Auntie Laura, Auntie Steph, or Uncle Joey pick him up every day now since Daddy is working! Caleb gets to spend a lot of fun time with everyone. He loves it. He is really getting into different things now..he loves Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Barney. He got a new bed set and it has Sesame Street characters..he has fun pointing out everyone. Caleb's been working on teeth..pretty soon we should be done with that (I hope!). He's getting his four canines in and then that will be all until his 2 year molars. He's starting to say words together..almost like sentences. "Hi Mommy" and "Hi Daddy" are some of his favorites! He calls Grandma and Granpda "Ma" and "Pa" now. His vocabularly is changing so much, it's hard to keep up with it! Just the other day he said "thank you" instead of signing it..what a surprise to hear that!! You just never know. Every day is so much fun (although the nights are still hard on us!).
