Happy Father's Day!

We hope all the dads enjoyed their special day last weekend. We had a nice weekend at home. Starting out on Thursday, Caleb and I went to the Fridley 49er days parade with Grandma, Auntie Steph and Uncle Joey. It was Caleb's first parade. He was scared at first..with all the sirens and loud truck noises that started out the parade. After awhile he got into waving to everyone and he LOVED the marching bands. He has a couple play drums at home and he's obsessed with them now. So much so that we've hidden them. Every once in awhile this week he's been asking "drum go?"

On Sunday we grilled hot dogs and brats for Father's Day, with Grandpa, Grandma, Auntie Steph and Uncle Joey. Caleb thought it was a party, so he loved it. He was looking for birthday cake.

June!

The summertime is always so busy! Our weekends have been full of fun activities lately. Lots of playing outside, when it's nice out (which hasn't been often this summer!)...Caleb loves outside. He loves watching the outside from the front window, watching the cars, bikes, buses, motorcycles, and Norm across the street. He has fun playing with his new car (thanks to my Uncle Tom and Aunt Terri for giving that to us!), bubble mower and other outside toys. He has not quite mastered his bike yet. Caleb also likes to watch Daddy do anything..from mowing the lawn to playing video games.

Last week was Spring Lake Park's Tower Days celebration. The parade was rained out but we did go to fireworks on Sunday night. Caleb was enjoying being outside, running around in the sand and trying to get to the water (this was by a lake)..and having Grandpa, Uncle Joey and his aunties chase after him. As soon as fireworks started he was scared and wouldn't watch..he spent the entire time clinging to Marshall. Later he said it was "scary." Everything is scary these days...including bugs, otherwise known as "bee-baas" in Caleb language.

Monday of this week we took a trip to the airport to say goodbye to Auntie Laura ("Dua"). She is in Germany until July 3rd with a group from school. We miss her already!

Memorial Day Weekend

We spent Memorial Day weekend visiting with Marshall's Grandma from North Dakota and Karen from Montana. Caleb had a lot of fun playing at Grandma Karen's house. We went to the German restaurant in Minneapolis one night for dinner..Caleb got to help the accordian player push buttons on the accordian! He enjoyed the singing and clapping. We also went to the Mall of America and Caleb got this practically life-sized Diego doll...he loves Diego and he sleeps with the doll every night, along with his stuffed puppy he's slept with since birth!
