HAPPY BIRTHDAY CALEB!!!!

Caleb is now 2 years old, officially. His birthday was yesterday. He got this cool motorcycle from Grandma and Grandpa. It makes all kinds of noises...Caleb LOVES it. The motorcyle (or "go-guy-cle" as he calls it) slept next to his crib last night. (Sorry, this is a crappy picture but my camera was momentarily broken during this time..I had to use my cell phone).

Marshall and I both had the day off so we had a nice family day for Caleb's birthday. We went to a couple different parks (probably Caleb's most favorite thing!) and Caleb went nuts running around playing and going down slides. We walked around the mall..went for lunch and Caleb got to ride the mechanical school bus, spaceship, merry-go-round..things that cost $1 or whatever at the food courts. He had a great time. He opened a few more gifts last night and tomorrow at daycare they are having a pizza party to celebrate the September birthdays (there were several of them at daycare!)

2 year check up today!

Caleb had his 2 year check up today at the Doctor's office. He was very excited about going to the see the doctor. We even played with his doctor kit this morning and he gave Grandma a couple shots and took her temperature!

When we got to the clinic he made a beeline for all the toys. They have a great waiting room and I had to practically drag him out of there when the nurse called us in. We had to go to the scale so Caleb could be weighed and measured. He did not like this at all. He freaked out when I tried to lay him down on the scale. I had to run back into the waiting room for a clean diaper from my purse and he really spazzed about that. He was crying and screaming "MOMMY"! Somehow the nurse managed to get his measurements..he was 35 inches tall and weighed 30lbs. Dr. Sakkal said he is very proportionate and he's growing great! He was around 70-75% percentile for both height and weight.

Caleb is healthy all-around! He still has one ear tube in place and hopefully he won't have ear infections this winter..we'll see. He had one shot today and a flu mist vaccine (it goes up your nose). He did so great with those! No crying at all. Funny after how upset he got on the scale. After we left the clinic he kept talking about how the doctor looked in his eyes and his ears and his mouth and he got a boo-boo on his leg (from the shot).

Birthday Party!!

We had a birthday party for Caleb this weekend! It was so much fun. All of Caleb's grandparents were there, plus some family and friends. He is such a lucky little 2 year old! He really enjoyed it all. His actual birthday is on Wednesday. Marshall and I both have the day off from work so we'll try to do something fun!

September 16!

We are already halfway through September! It's our wedding anniversary today. Hard to believe that was 3 years ago. Sometimes it seems like much longer (I mean that in a good way!!).

We went to the Renaissance Festival this weekend with Caleb. We didn't last too long because it started to rain...Caleb wanted to be at the park instead, so he wasn't too happy. We stopped at McDonald's on the way home and he got to play in their 'playland'. He loved that. He's also been watching the Vikings with his Daddy now that football season has started. He recognizes the Vikings logo whenever he sees it and he thinks that the football players are fighting. I told him they don't fight and he said, "no, they do!". One of Caleb's ear tubes fell out last weekend...I just happened to notice something green in his ear and pulled it out..sure enough it was a tiny tube! I knew the right ear's tube was out of place and now we know the left tube is gone..I'm really hoping he is done with the ear infections, otherwise we will end up going through that again. We'll see...germs are unavoidable at daycare!

I also included some pictures of Caleb pretending to go 'ni-ni' with his new pillow and from the State Fair. Caleb's birthday party is on Saturday coming up and he is so excited!! It should be a fun day.

Labor Day weekend!

Summer is just about over! I can't believe it's already September. We had a really nice long weekend....I had Friday off since Caleb's daycare was closed. We went to JCPenney's to get his 2 year old pictures taken. He was all excited for his turn while we watched other kids get their pictures taken. When it was his turn he was a little apprehensive! He kept saying "I don't want to" when the photographer asked him to do different things. It ended up being okay though. We got some cute pictures!

Caleb got in some park time as well this weekend...he LOVES the park and gets so excited to go there. We are lucky in that we have a park within walking distance...and Caleb has to walk, too. He doesn't want to go in his stroller. We also went to the State Fair on Sunday (I have some pictures but not uploaded yet!) ..we took the bus there and that was a big deal for Caleb. He's really into anything transportation lately. He loves buses, big 'wrucks' (trucks!), cement trucks, dump trucks...anything! Caleb did pretty well at the Fair..it was really warm when we went so we were all hot and sweaty. He did like seeing all the animals though!

Below are some recent pictures...you can see Caleb's bruised eye in some of them. He got an owie of course a couple days before his pictures, but it cleared up in time! He really loves Kitty these days...he gives her a treat every night and wants to say good night and hug and kiss her. She is pretty good with him but isn't a fan of being picked up! Caleb also helped my parents clean corn...my mom froze a lot of it, like they do every year!

Visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Dean

A couple weekends ago Marshall's dad and stepmom were in town to visit. We spent the day with them at their hotel and also at the Mall of America. Caleb went swimming a little..but he wasn't a fan of being in the big swimming pool. He had more fun playing catch and just putting his feet in the water. He opened some early birthday gifts and he was so excited about that! He got a Mr Potato Head, a puzzle/stool and some clothes...he has been playing with the puzzle and Mr Potato Head every since. He loves them. He is getting really good at the puzzle, too. Marshall and his dad went to the Vikings/Steelers game and that was a lot of fun for them.
