Misc. pictures

Here are some random pictures from the last few weeks...Caleb's been outside playing in the snow a couple times with Uncle Joey and Auntie Steph. He likes to throw snowballs and go sledding (except at the park he wanted to play on the slides, too!). We celebrated Christmas with Marshall's mom and family and couple weekends ago and last weekend we went to a party at my cousin Kris's house...so there's a picture of Caleb with 2 of his second cousins (all 3 are 2 years old!).

Caleb was on antibiotics for the last couple weeks, hoping to clear up what the doctor thought was a sinus infection. He had a runny nose and cough for several weeks. He seems much better now!

We have also been working on potty training...no success yet. So far Caleb's been sitting on the potty once in awhile..but he hasn't gone in it yet. Our daycare provider is going to work on it with him as well. We did have one close call..getting ready for bathtime Caleb told me, "potty coming quick" as I was getting him ready to sit on the potty chair. By the time I got the diaper off he was in the middle of going...so it was too late. I think it's a good sign, though, he knows when he has to go! I don't want to push him too much so we'll just see what happens.

Presents, presents, and more presents

Caleb was very blessed this year in the gift department..he enjoyed it so much. Even Kitty got to open a present from Santa. Favorite gifts this year are probably the bounce back race car with remote (except Caleb doesn't really get the whole remote control thing...he thought the car was chasing him several times, even though he was pushing the button to make it go!)...his sled (he was in the sled practicing already on Christmas morning), big Tonka trunk (which is NOT controlled by a remote, even though Caleb tried!) and lots of other fun stuff...Curious George jammies, books and stuffed animals (his crib is like a toy store, all his friends have to be in there with him at bedtime).

Happy Holidays!

We hope everyone enjoyed the holidays this year. Christmas was extra fun for us with Caleb around to celebrate. He was so excited about everything (mostly about presents!) In this post I have a couple pictures of Caleb opening gifts from his grandparents in North Dakota. I'll post some other pictures from Christmas day, too.

We had some bad news right before Christmas, Marshall's grandfather died. Marshall had been up to North Dakota right before his death, so he was able to say good-bye. We left later on Christmas Day to make it to the funeral in Minot, on December 26th. It was quite the trip. Driving on 94 at night was not too fun..so we stopped in Fargo to get a hotel room. We left early in the morning to make it to Minot in time. Caleb was pretty good in the car, no major tantrums but A LOT OF TALKING. Marshall and I were getting pretty tired of the constant, Mommy! Daddy!! And he wouldn't stop until we answered him. It was pretty funny though...Caleb was just coming up with the goofiest things, like, what do trees do? I like tacos! Daddy, do you have money in your pocket? I don't want my picture taken!

We stayed with Marshall's grandma in Minot so we actually go to see both sides of his family, which was nice. So despite the circumstances we had a nice visit. We saw a lot of the Dean Family (most I've never met before!) and everyone commented on how much Caleb looks like Marshall.
