Birthday time!
Birthdays are always a big deal in my family. The first week of May is always a busy one...it's Stephanie's birthday on May 3rd and then my Dad's birthday on May 6th. This year, instead of going out for dinner with our growing family..we stayed in and grilled at my parents' house. Caleb was excited for the 'party' all week..he kept asking if he could come! He helped open gifts and blow out candles. Ella enjoyed her first Waldvogel birthday celebration, too. She was out of control with giggles, at Grandma's funny faces.

Proud big brother
Now that Ella is a little more interactive, Caleb seems to have more of an interest in her. He tries to help her play with things and is always ready with a song when she's fussy. And Ella loves her big brother, she watches him whenever she can. I am really looking forward to when they can interact a little more! We do have some jealousy issues once in awhile, which is probably normal. Caleb did bonk Ella on the head once "cuz she was looking at me!" which prompted crying from BOTH of them. And last week when she was crying he told me maybe we should put her back into my tummy. His worst bouts of jealousy come when Marshall is paying extra attention to the baby, he has a hard time seeing his Daddy love this other baby so much! We both try to spend some time alone with Caleb and I think that helps. Just this weekend we took him to see Shrek 4 and Auntie Laura watched Ella (Caleb was worried about that, he said, "tell her to be careful with Ella!").

April--Ella is 3 months old!
Ella was 3 months old in April and she's doing so well. She's such a happy baby and usually pretty easy-going. She seems to have a little anxiety sometimes, she'll scream for Grandma or Grandpa or at daycare, and she's afraid of any deep voices, like Uncle Joey...but she doesn't do this screaming thing at home. I guess she just likes her mommy and daddy!! Or Marshall would say, Just Daddy. She is definitely a Daddy's girl. He can always make her smile and laugh. She's really paying attention to Caleb these days, she just watches him and you can tell she wants to be doing what he is doing! She's started to roll, but she only does this trick at daycare. She's been a great sleeper, too. I've started to just put her down at bedtime and she falls asleep on her own! I really don't remember things being so easy with Caleb, we had many sleep challenges with him.
