Summer fun!

Last Thursday Caleb went up to the 'yarm' (farm) with Grandma and Grandpa...Uncle Joey and "Ti Steph" (Auntie Steph) were already up there. Caleb had so much fun up there...it was the first time he could really enjoy it, earlier this summer he was sick both times we visited. He was able to play outside A LOT (he LOVES going on tractor rides) and he visited with "Great Ma" (Great Grandma) too. They also went to the Douglas County Fair and Caleb enjoyed seeing all the farm animals. Grandpa tried to get him on a pony ride...but after about they starting moving Caleb was done with that!

Friday night Marshall, Laura and I came up to Osakis as well. Joey and Stephanie had some friends come up to camp for the weekend, as well. We came home on Saturday and Caleb and I went shopping for birthday party stuff! It's not the best idea to take a toddler to Party America. Caleb was going crazy with excitement in that store. He wanted everything. We settled on fire-trucks...you can see him modeling his fireman hat in one of the pictures below. He's so excited!

We also got hair cuts on Sunday. Caleb continues to amaze us with how well-behaved he is at the hair salon. Marshall and I decided to get our hair cut, too..after Caleb was done he just sat on a little booster seat behind us, eating his sucker and watching. I was envisioning chaos as he ran around the place without supervision, but he was just perfect!!

Caleb is still talking about his visit to the 'yarm' last week. He saw a rooster at the county fair and a couple days this week he's woken up and started saying 'cock a doodle doo!' I'm sure Laura and Grandpa have really appreciated being woken up like that these past mornings! In the driveway before we left for daycare he was even telling the birdies and Mommy's car 'cock a doodle doo!'

23 months old!

Finally I've uploaded some pictures! Caleb loves playing in boxes...we usually have these put away but he'll drag them out once in awhile. He also enjoys helping "Ma" (Grandma) and "Dua" (Laura) in the kitchen. Maybe he'll inherit their cooking skills instead of mine!

August!

I have been slacking in the picture department (sorry!) but I wanted to give an update on Caleb. Summer is coming to an end..and with that we'll have Caleb's 2nd birthday coming up! I cannot believe my baby will be 2. Caleb is super excited for his birthday. It was my mom's birthday recently and whenever we mentioned it he said, "Caleb's birthday too?" He loves birthday parties, balloons, presents, cake, etc...he will have so much fun at his party, I'm excited for that too! He's already saying "I 2 now!" when we ask how old he is.

So being almost 2 means that Caleb is into EVERYTHING and he barely sits still for a minute! He is also talking non-stop...he is so funny and has us laughing all the time. He loves playing outside and he comes home from daycare with the bumps, bruises, and dirt to prove it...he has a fun time, though. I have to get used to the idea that my baby is going to get dirty and he's going to get owies...I tend to freak out a little but he is a boy, after all!

Caleb is really into sports and music now. He has a ton of balls at home and likes to pretend to be a "baseball player"..he'll wear one of Pa's hats and run around with his glove and ball, or whatever he can find to pretend to be a bat (baseball bats are not good inside toys!). He needs practice catching, but he's got a good arm. He loves seeing Daddy's guitars (they spend most of the time 'sleeping' otherwise Caleb would be playing with them constantly!)..and pretends to play the guitar too..or the flute, or he marches around in his marching band, playing the drum! We're planning on getting him a toy guitar for his birthday, so that should be a fun gift (maybe a noisy gift!!!)
