4th of July!

We took part in a new family tradition this year for the 4th of July...a huge Waldvogel family get-together. It started with lunch at my cousin Curt's house in Osakis....each group had their own special t-shirts (we were the yellows!). After lunch we all headed over the baseball fields and we had a huge family softball game. Caleb was the youngest player at 3 years old. This day might have been the highlight of his summer. He had such a great time playing ball with everyone. He played out in left field, with my Dad or Laura. He was also glued to my cousin Jaxon's side for awhile, too. And Jaxon was a saint for putting up with Caleb, he is pretty serious about anything baseball related so it was tough to have a 3 year old jumping around next to him, I'm sure! Caleb wanted so badly to catch a fly ball, Laura caught one up against the fence with Caleb right next to her and right away he exclaimed "UGH DUA! I wanted to catch it!" His favorite part was hitting...he got to bat in order just like everyone else and he hit the ball every time. He needed a little help running bases, so my aunt Karen ran with him. It was so fun to watch him get so excited.
After softball, we went to the farm to rest for awhile. We went to watch fireworks from my Uncle Bruce's farm, it wasn't loud at all so Caleb really enjoyed that. He also got to try his own sparkler and that was fun (for him!) too...it made me nervous. It was a nice weekend! Ella and Marshall stayed home, since we were all headed back to the farm the next weekend...so I got to sleep all through the night without worrying about the baby and I really enjoyed that. It was my first time being away from Ella, though, so that was kind of tough!
