Before leaving for Osakis we had quite a scare with Caleb. Wednesday night Caleb slept horribly, he woke up screaming and when we asked what was wrong he said "SPIDER...ARM!" I don't know if he really saw a spider or dreamt it, but it scared him enough that he wouldn't sleep in his crib. Thursday morning, after a rough night of sleeping, he was feverish and very cranky. He stayed home from daycare, with Grandma and Auntie Laura. I left work early to take him to the doctor, his fever wouldn't go away and he was very lethargic. At the clinic they took his temp right away and it was 105.6!! This was so scary...I've never seen a fever that high and I kept envisioning he had something life-threatening and we would be rushed to the emergency room. The nurse gave him some medicine right away and we saw the doctor. She couldn't find anything really wrong besides the fever...a throat culture and blood test came back fine. The doctor took his temp again, this time rectally (most accurate) and it was 104.3...a little better, but still bad. She instructed me to just watch him closely and call if anything happens. That night, he slept better and woke up without much of a fever. We decided to leave for Osakis in the afternoon after he seemed pretty much normal. However, he remained sick pretty much all weekend. The fever never came back but he threw up multiple times and didn't eat much of anything. He still managed to have a fun time at the farm...riding on the tractors, 4-wheeler, flying a kite and playing baseball. Monday I stayed home from work again and he was pretty much back to normal...except his appetite. Apparently it was just a mystery virus I guess..the doctor did say it could last anywhere from 24 hours to 5 days..and it ended up being about 5 days!

Happy Birthday Mommy!
We enjoyed the week playing outside, going in the swimming pool, and picking up Auntie Laura ("dua") at the airport. She was in Germany for 3 weeks. Caleb was thrilled to see her. He missed her so much, he is still saying "I missed you Dua!" Caleb's vocabulary seems to be growing more and more every day..he really seems grown up these days. However, he was not a fan of fireworks on the 4th of July. He is so afraid of the loud noises!
